By accessing or using Retrofolio at retrofolio.dhfrost.com (“Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Not Financial Advice

Retrofolio provides historical portfolio backtesting for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Past performance of any portfolio does not guarantee future results. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions. Consult a qualified financial advisor before making any investment.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • One account per person. Do not share accounts.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls.
  • Scrape, crawl, or automate requests in a way that burdens the Service.
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or backend systems.
  • Submit data designed to exploit, crash, or degrade the Service.

5. Market Data

Historical price data is sourced from Yahoo Finance via the yfinance library. We make no representations about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. Data may contain errors or gaps. Use it at your own risk.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its source code are provided under an open-source license (see the GitHub repository). Your backtest data belongs to you.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DATA WILL BE ACCURATE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON BACKTEST RESULTS.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from the account settings page.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
